SugarDaddie.com Propositioned Sugar Land, Texas

Updated: Saturday, August 3 2013, 10:47 PM CDT

An online dating service has its eye on Sugar Land, Texas.  The company offered the city millions of dollars to change its name to Sugar Daddie.com.

"It's a niche dating site that typically involves older gentleman and young attractive women," Darren Shuster with SugarDaddie.com said. "We started at $500,000. Did a couple of calculations on the back of a napkin and decided about $4.5 million would probably hit the spot."

Shuster and Sugar Land Mayor James Thompson met in a closed door meeting. Afterwards there was a handshake but no deal.  Thompson said the city is not for sale. But did have a pitch of his own.

"I said, 'Why don't you relocate here and for every dollar you save in taxes, donate 50 percent back to charity and we'd welcome them in Sugar Land,'" Thompson said.
