A Plasma A Day Contest Rules
Contest will run Wednesday 11/5/08 – Wednesday 11/26/08
(Weeknights only)
1.How to Enter the Contest:
(a) A Plasma A Day Contest will begin Wednesday 11/5/08 during the 9pm-10pm hour, when KEYE will flash a nightly "HD Question" and encourage viewers to seek the correct answers on a special HD/DTV page of the www.keyetv.com website, then watch the 10pm Late News. Late News viewers will be given a cue to call. The first caller to reach the contest line with the correct answer to that night’s “HD Question” will be the winner of a 42” Flat Panel Plasma HD TV. Viewers can also take a short HD/DTV quiz found on the HD web page on www.keyetv.com which will make them automatically registered for the grand prize drawing. The grand prize winner will be randomly selected from among all eligible entries and announced on Wednesday 11/26/08. The grand prize is a 50” Flat Panel Plasma HDTV.
(b) Participants and winner(s) must be U.S. residents at least 18-years old, have a valid residential address (if calling contest line) or a valid email address (if entering the contest via www.keyetv.com) and live within the KEYE viewing area. Employees of CBS 42 KEYE-TV, Four Points Media, Cerberus Corporation, other television and radio stations in the Austin market, and their affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising agencies and their immediate family members or persons living in the same household are ineligible to participate or win.
(c) Four Points Media Group of Austin, Inc. (hereinafter “Station” or “CBS42 KEYE”) is not responsible for late, lost, stolen, misdirected, misaddressed, incomplete or illegible entries. Station is not responsible for technical or computer failures, errors or data loss of any kind, lost or unavailable Internet connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or deleted computer or network transmissions, inability to access any Web site or on-line service, dropped cell phone calls, or phone line connections, or any other error or malfunction, or late, lost, illegible or misdirected entries. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void. If the Station determines, in their sole discretion, that there is any suspected or actual electronic tampering with the Contest or if technical difficulties compromise the integrity of the Contest, the Station reserves the right to void the entries at issue and/or terminate the Contest and conduct a random drawing to award the prize among all eligible online entries received as of the termination date. If the Contest is terminated due to tampering or technical difficulties prior to its conclusion date, notice will be posted at www.keyetv.com . If, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Station which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contest, Station reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. Station reserves the right to disqualify any entrant that tampers with the operation of the Contest or KEYE website or violates the Official Rules of the Contest. Station further reserves the right to disqualify any entrant and/or entry at its sole discretion.
(d) Broadcasts are subject to preemptions and scheduling changes. If such changes occur they will be posted on the KEYE website: www.keyetv.com
(e) Odds of winning depend on number of phone calls received or online entries received.
(f) Entry deemed made by phone or holder of e-mail account
2. Eligibility Restrictions:
(a) Participants and winner(s) must be U.S. residents at least 18-years old, have a valid residential address (if calling contest line) or a valid email address (if entering the contest via www.keyetv.com and live within the stations viewing area). Employees of CBS 42 KEYE-TV, Four Points Media, Cerberus Corporation, other television and radio stations in the Austin market, and their affiliates, subsidiaries and advertising agencies and their immediate family members or persons living in the same household are ineligible to participate or win.
(b) Viewers are eligible to win a CBS 42 KEYE-TV contest only once every sixty days. Only one winner per household is permitted in any contest. Viewers are eligible to win a prize valued at $600.00 or more only once every six months.
(c) All entries become the sole property of Station and will not be returned. By entering, entrants agree to abide by these rules, and warrant and represent that their entry is their original work, and grant to Station the right to edit, publish, promote and otherwise use their entries without further permission, notice or compensation.
3. Prizes:
(a) During the Contest dates (as stated above), during the 9pm-10pm Prime hour M-F, KEYE will flash a nightly "HD Question" and encourage viewers to seek the answers on the HD/DTV web page of the www.keyetv.com website, then watch the 10pm Late News for the cue to call in with the correct answer. The first caller to reach the contest line with the answer will be the winner of a 42” Flat Panel Plasma HD TV. Viewers can also take a HD/DTV quiz found on the HD web page on www.keyetv.com which will automatically register them for the grand prize drawing. The grand prize winner will be randomly drawn and announced on Wednesday 11/26/08. The grand prize is a 50” Flat Panel Plasma HDTV. Answers will be deemed correct only if they match the answers provided on KEYE’s HD/DTV web page.
(b) Each night, in the CBS42 10pm Late News, Anchors will host a short (approximately :60 second) segment to encourage viewers to become aware of the Digital change-over, and to initiate viewer call-ins with the answer to the nights HD/DTV question (per the 9pm-10pm hour). The winner will be announced each night, before the conclusion of the 10pm Newscast.
(c) Contest prizes are not transferable. Prizes may not be substituted for or redeemed for cash. Station reserves the right to substitute prize of comparable value.
4. Selection of Winners:
(a) Decisions of Contest Sponsors with respect to the contest are final.
(b) Go online to www.keyetv.com, to the “A Plasma A Day” web page to search for the answer to the question aired each weeknight 11/5/08-11/25/08 during 9pm -10pm. Each weeknight, during the 10pm News, viewers will be asked to call in to the contest line to provide the correct answer. First caller with the correct answer is the winner. Or viewers can visit the web page to take a HD quiz and be eligible for the grand prize. Grand prize winner will be randomly selected and announced on Wednesday 11/26/08. Answers will be deemed correct only if they match the answers provided on KEYE’s HD/D-TV web page.
5. Conditions:
(a) Payment of all federal, state and local taxes is the sole responsibility of the winner and winners may receive an IRS Form 1099 or equivalent from Station.
(b) By participating in the Contest, the winner agrees to have their name, voice, or likeness used in any advertising or broadcasting material relating to this contest, and to sign a publicity release, affidavit of eligibility and release of liability prior to acceptance of the prize. By accepting the prize, the weekly winner grants the Station the right to use the winner’s name, voice, picture and/or likeness for purposes of advertising and publicity in any and all media now known or hereafter invented, without further permission or additional compensation (except where prohibited by law). All expenses on receipt and use of prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. Winner, by acceptance of their prizes, agree to release Station, Four Points Media Group, their respective parents and subsidiaries, and their respective advertising, promotion and production agencies from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership or use of the prize or while preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to any prize-related activity.
6. Station reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the contest which will become effective upon announcement.
7. No purchase necessary. The contest is void where prohibited by law.
8. Failure to comply with the contest rules may result in an entrant’s disqualification.
