49ers Deliver Davis His Super Bowl Dream

Updated: Thursday, January 31 2013, 04:35 PM CST
New Orleans is the home of Super Bowl 47. But getting to the Big Easy has been anything but easy for 49ers lineman Leonard Davis.

"It took 12 years to do it, but this is the opportunity," said Davis.

After 175 regular season games, the former Longhorn will play in his first Super Bowl.

"That's every guy's dream, to play in a Super Bowl," said former University of Texas defensive back and current 49ers cornerback Tarell Brown. "He's here now and I'm really happy for him and his family."

Davis struck gold last July when he signed a one year contract with the 49ers.

"He's a very savvy vet and he knew that the 49ers were going to be special," said San Francisco Offensive Line coach Tim Drevno.

"In the end, when you walk away you're like 'man I played all this time and never got to win a Super Bowl," Davis told KEYE TV Sports in New Orleans.
