Austin Dominates State Golf, State Tennis

Updated: Tuesday, April 30 2013, 10:57 PM CDT
What a day for the golf and tennis stars of Austin.

A bundle of Austin high schoolers took home state championships.

Westwood's Miguel Alda led off the day with a comeback win in the 5A state title match.  After falling in set one 6-2, Alda came back to win in 3 … as did the Westlake mixed doubles team of Casey Sutton and Clayton Neiss.  Sutton won her second straight mixed doubles title, Neiss his first – with emotion.

The Lake Travis girls' doubles team of Ryan Brown and Courtney Schulte lost in the final in 3 sets.

In golf Lake Travis won the 5A title in both girls and boys – capped off by a stunning finish to Klein Klotz's career.  Playing in a playoff for second place, Klotz dropped in a hole-in-one to claim second – just another big moment in a big day for the Cavaliers.

Results are below – congrats to all!
