Austin Hosts SEC Kickoff Picnic

Updated: Saturday, August 17 2013, 10:51 PM CDT

The SEC has produced every BCS champion since Texas won the title in 2005. Alabama, the two-time defending national champion, is the preseason number one team in the Associated Press poll. Four other SEC teams join the Tide in the top 10. SEC football is no picnic. However, Saturday it was.

All fourteen SEC schools were represented at the Austin' SEC Club's 16th annual Kickoff Picnic at American Legion Post 76.

"It's great to see all the people out here for the SEC picnic," said "Wild Hog" Wayne Hachenberg, a past-president of the Austin Razorbacks Club. "We've grown from having probably 200 participants to probably up to 800."

CBS kicks off its extensive coverage of the SEC Saturday September 14th, when Texas A&M hosts Alabama at 2:30pm. The game can been seen exclusively on KEYE TV.
