Elgin Little League Softball Falls Just Short

The all-stars from Texas West, Robinson Little League defeated Texas East, Elgin Little League, 14-6 in Tuesday's Regional Championship Game in Waco, Texas. Texas West will represent the Southwest Region of the United States at the 2013 Little League Softball World Series in Portland, Oregon. 


Both team came out slugging, scoring a combined 16-runs in the first two innings. Emilie Hoelscher took over on the mound for Texas West in the Top of the 3rd-inning and shut down the Texas East bats to pick up the pitching victory.


In a double-elimination format, Elgin fell to Robinson, 6-5 on Sunday. Elgin finished the regional championship with a 3-2 record.


The newly crowned Southwest Region champs, Robinson, will begin play at the World Series in Portland, Oregon on August 9th against the champions of the Asia Pacific Region.
