Georgetown Wins Class 4A Girls State Basketball Title

Kaitlin Walla scored 26 points and pulled down seven rebounds as Georgetown defeated Dallas Lincoln, 65-60 to win the Class 4A state championship.
The Lady Eagles (34-4) trailed by as many as seven points in the fourth quarter. But Walla's jumper with 1:36 remaining in the fourth quarter gave Georgetown a lead it would never relinquish.
"I thought all year that it was a special year," said Lady Eagles head coach Rhonda Farney. "Winning doesn't necessarily change it. I'm excited that we won. It feels great for our kids and great for our community."
"That's what this day was about," said Walla. "That's what this whole playoffs season has been about - playing for each other. We wanted to end it off right."
It's the first girls state basketball championship for Georgetown since 1979.
