Horns Haul in 28 Signees on National Signing Day

With their 2012 signing class, Mack Brown and the Longhorns beefed up their artillery.

"The back of my hat says 'The Weapon'," exclaimed Texas signee Caleb Bluiett.

UT finalized its class of 28 standouts Wednesday, and the biggest shot fired all day came from the other side of the border.  Shreveport, LA product Torshiro Davis, who had been committed to LSU for nearly an entire year, sent the Tigers into a tail spin when he signed with Texas.  Mack Brown, was apparently, just as surprised.

"He was ecstatic.  I think he dropped the phone," said Davis when describing Brown's reaction after he informed UT's head coach that he was headed to Austin.

Mack was much more composed when meeting with the media for his signing day press conference, during which he raved about the versatility of the 2012 signees.

"This is a group that likes Texas," said Brown.  We filled every position but tight end, and I think there are some guys we can look at that are athletic enough in those positions. We filled positions of need, and I feel like we took a huge step toward where we want to get with this class."Horns Haul in 28 Signees on National Signing Day
