Horns History: Texas Left Out of NCAA Baseball Tourney for First Time Since '98

Updated: Saturday, August 3 2013, 09:47 PM CDT
For the first time since 1998, the University of Texas will not be a part of the NCAA baseball tournament.

After finishing the season with a 30-22 overall record, the Longhorns were not selected to the NCAA field of 64 announced Monday.  Texas finished third place in the Big 12 conference, but won just six of its final 13 games, including an 0-and-2 performance at the conference tournament.  Four Big 12 teams (Baylor, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Missouri) advanced to regionals.

Texas has the most all-time appearances in the men's College World Series (34) and has won six national titles.Horns History: Texas Left Out of NCAA Baseball Tourney for First Time Since '98
