Kearney Frustrated with UT

Updated: Saturday, August 3 2013, 09:47 PM CDT
Former UT head women’s track coach Bev Kearney expressed her frustration with the school after she resigned on Saturday.

In November Texas placed Kearney on administrative leave.  In a nationally televised interview, she questioned the reasoning behind her dismissal.

“Is it because I have a disability? Is it because I’m black? Is it because I’m female? Is it because I’m successful? Is it now because of my sexual preference?” Coach Bev Kearney asked Tuesday. “I had to finally come to embrace not knowing why, and I had to embrace it because the more you try to figure out why, the harder it is to forgive.”

A former UT student-athlete came forward in October and admitted the two had a consensual, intimate relationship in 2002.  Kearney has admitted the relationship was wrong.

The hall of fame coach led Texas to six national championships, three indoor and three outdoor.Kearney Frustrated with UT
