Leander HS Football Player Charged With Child Sex Assault

Updated: Monday, August 12 2013, 05:49 PM CDT

An 18-year-old Leander High School student is accused of sexually abusing a child.

According to the arrest affidavit, Gregory Raymond Kelley is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first degree felony.

Court documents say Kelley had been staying at a home that was being used as an in-home day care in Cedar Park in the 2000 block of Marysol Trail when the abuse occurred.

Police say the 4-year-old child told investigators in July about two separate incidents of abuse by Kelley.

According to online records, Kelley was booked onto the Williamson County Jail last Friday and released the same day on a $50,000 bond.

Kelley is a senior on the Leander HS football team. According to the Austin American Statesman, he has already committed to the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Leander ISD says they are cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation, but they are restricted by federal privacy laws on discussing his status as a student.
