McCoy, Hicks Attorneys: No Charges In San Antonio Incident

Updated: Wednesday, January 9 2013, 07:17 PM CST

Jordan Hicks, the Longhorns linebacker who was sent home from the Alamo Bowl after violating team rules, will return to The University of Texas.

Perry Q. Minton, the attorney for Hicks, tells KEYE TV in a statement, "I just got off the phone with the San Antonio Police Department detective in charge of the investigation of my client and he has informed me that no charges will be brought against Jordan Hicks or anyone else in this matter. The investigation is closed."

"Additionally I have spoken to Mr. Hicks and his family and they are
understandably relieved," Minton said. "Mr. Hicks will be returning to
the University of Texas once school resumes from the holiday break."

KEYE TV contacted the San Antonio Police Department. It says the case is not closed.

Case McCoy, a back-up quarterback for UT, was also sent home from San Antonio for breaking team rules. His attorney, Van G. Hilley, told KEYE TV that his client was being investigated by the SAPD but Hilley considers the case closed.

Hilley says the lead detective with SAPD informed him that the Department will recommend to the District Attorney that no charges be filed and that the case be closed. This was per a conversation with the lead detective Wednesday afternoon.
