Peter The Great Returns

Updated: Friday, October 12 2012, 08:33 PM CDT

Saturday will be the 107th meeting of the Red River Rivalry as the Longhorns and Sooners renew acquaintances at the Cotton Bowl on the State Fair grounds.

Texas holds the series lead 59-42-5 overall with the Sooners winning that last two meetings.

In this long and historic rivalry, heroes stood tall, legends were born, and records were made and broken. But in 107 games between the two, one record has stood for 20 years and it may never be broken.

Bob Ballou looks back on how former Longhorn quarterback Peter Gardere beat Oklahoma four straight years and is the only quarterback to do so in the series.

It’s the 20 year anniversary of Peter the Great!!Peter The Great Returns
