Updated: Sunday, May 5 2013, 11:23 PM CDT

Mitch Meyer and Blair DeBord had two RBI each Sunday as the Kansas State Wildcats won a Big 12 series against the Texas Longhorns with the 9-3 decision at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. It was the first series win by the Wildcats over the Longhorns since 2009.

Kansas State improved to 34-15 overall and 11-7 in conference while Texas fell to 24-22 on the season, 6-15 in Big 12 play.

The Longhorns scored in the first when a wild pitch from Blake McFadden scored Erich Weiss from third. KSU got to Nathan Thornhill in the fourth with three runs to take the lead for good on an RBI single by Meyer and two-run single by DeBord.

In the top of the fifth, the Wildcats loaded the bases and scored twice on a single by Austin Fisher and sacrifice fly by Jon Davis. Two fielding errors led to four runs in the Kansas State half of the seventh inning

Texas concludes its home portion of the 2013 schedule next Saturday (May 11) with a doubleheader against Texas Southern, starting at 1 p.m. Both games will be televised on Longhorn Network with radio on AM 1300 The Zone.
