Texas Pitcher John Curtiss To Miss 2013 Season

Updated: Saturday, August 3 2013, 09:47 PM CDT
Texas pitcher John Curtiss will miss the entire 2013 season after undergoing surgery to repair a ligament in his right elbow.
The sophomore had successful Tommy John surgery earlier this week.

Curtiss injured his elbow in the Longhorns final game of last year against Kansas.  He had thrown 6 and 2/3 innings before complaining of pain in his elbow.  Curtiss went 2-3 with a 3.50 ERA for UT.

"I’m looking forward to contribute in any way I can to the program this season,” Curtiss said.  “I think the team is going to be pretty good this year.  I know I will work hard to get back.”
