Time Warner Picks Up Longhorn Network

Updated: Friday, August 30 2013, 07:35 PM CDT

Time Warner Cable says they will now offer the Longhorn Network to their customers -- just in time for the college football season opener.

The Longhorn Network is a channel devoted solely to University of Texas athletics. ESPN operates the channel under a 20-year agreement with the university.

"We're really excited to have reached an agreement that brings Longhorn Network's programming to Time Warner Cable," said Andrew Rosenberg, Senior Vice President, Content Acquisition for Time Warner Cable. "We know we count a lot of UT fans among our customers, and we've worked hard with our colleagues at ESPN to finalize an agreement in time to bring them tomorrow's game."

People that subscribe to Time Warner Cable's expanded basic service can start watching the Longhorn Network immediately.
