US Athletes Feeling Safe At Sochi Olympics

Updated: Monday, February 3 2014, 02:07 PM CST

The first U.S. athletes are arriving at the Sochi Games in Russia, where there are some 100,000 police, agents and army troops are on hand.

Although the overwhelming forces don't ensure there won't be any problems, the sheer numbers of security personnel have put some athletes at ease.

The U.S. State Department has warned Americans about traveling to Sochi and advised U.S. athletes not to wear any team-issued uniform gear outside the venues, saying it could make them targets. But U.S. bobsled member Dallas Robinson says he plans to wear his red, white and blue. He says he and a teammate rode bicycles outside the athlete's village yesterday.
