West Virginia Tops Texas 60-58

Updated: Saturday, August 3 2013, 09:47 PM CDT
Texas has had trouble closing out games, and that trend reared its ugly head again in Morgantown.

The Longhorns held a 54-53 lead with 4:30 to go, but missed all seven shots down the stretch and fell to West Virginia 60-58.

It’s UT’s seventh loss in its last nine games.

Texas trailed by 11 in the second half, but a 16-3 run put them back on top.  Javan Felix led the spurt, capping it off with two free throws with 8:21 to go.

The Horns scored just 9 points, and had two field goals, the rest of the way.

Sheldon McClellan led Texas with 14 points, but it came on 2-10 shooting.  They shot 35 percent as a team on the night.West Virginia Tops Texas 60-58
