2nd Firefighter Dies, 2 Hurt In Texas Lodge Fire

(AP) -- Two Central Texas firefighters have now died of burns suffered as they fought a lodge hall fire.
 
A Bryan city spokeswoman says Bryan Fire Lt. Gregory Pickard died Saturday afternoon in a Galveston hospital of burns suffered as they fought a fire at a Knights of Columbus hall in Bryan.
 
Killed at the scene was Bryan Fire Lt. Eric Wallace. Firefighters Ricky Mantey Jr. and Mitchel Moran were taken to University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston for treatment of burns. Bryan city spokeswoman Mary Stratta says both are in serious but stable condition.
 
Stratta said the team entered the burning building about midnight Friday but didn't emerge when it was ordered evacuated.
