Teaching Children Fire Safety
Every year children start over 71 thousand fires. Seventeen thousand of those fires start in homes.
It was early December, 2011 when a child started a fire in Austin. Austin firefighters concluded that a 3-year-old child was playing with a lighter and caused a fire at a south Austin apartment Complex. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
Children are curious by nature, so how do parents drive home the danger of fire? One man has developed a program credited with lowering these types of incidents.
