SH 130 Car Crash Leaves One Dead, Three Injured


One person is dead and three others are seriously injured after a truck rolled over on southbound SH 130.

Officials say the call came in just after 6:30 a.m. Friday morning. The accident happened just south of Elroy Road on SH 130. A Hispanic male died at the scene three others were transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge with injuries. Police say the driver of the truck is in critical condition and the two other passengers are in stable condition.

According to the Department of Public Safety, a Ford F250 was towing a 19-foot trailer when a rear tire blew. The driver overcompensated and the truck rolled as a result.

TxDOT officials report that the southbound main lanes of SH 130 are closed at the toll plaza just north of FM 812. Police are diverting drivers through the toll plaza to get around the crash site.

The Department of Public Safety is at the scene investigating the accident.
