San Marcos Man Killed In I-35 Auto-Pedestrian Accident
A 62-year-old San Marcos man died Wednesday evening while trying to cross at the 1700 block of I-35 South in San Marcos
San Marcos Police say Edward Perez attempted to cross by foot when he was struck by a Ford Focus traveling southbound on I-35 around 7:30 p.m.
According to police, the driver of the vehicle stayed on scene. The driver was a woman traveling with her two children. None of the occupants in the car were hurt, but were shaken up from the collision.
Police say no charges were filed against the driver.
An autopsy has been ordered for Perez.
This is the 12th traffic fatality in San Marcos in 2012.
