Pearland Couple Die In Massive Crash On I-10 In Texas

Thanksgiving will never be the same for one Texas family.  They lost their parents in a 100-vehicle pile-up that happened Thursday morning.

Vincent and Debbie Leggio died in the chain reaction crash on I-10 near Beaumont, about 80 miles east of Houston.

"All of their time and effort went here, Vinco Electric in Pearland. They owned it for 30 years," V.J. Leggio, their oldest son, said. "My dad and I worked together. We had a good relationship.  We got to spend time together, golfing and fishing. And I'm so thankful for that now."

The couple was driving to Mississippi for a gambling trip.

Witnesses say they couldn't see a thing in front of them because of fog.  Then one crash led to a pile-up involving 100 vehicles.  The Leggios were in a white SUV which was crushed between a big rig and a car. At least 50 people went to the hospital.

"My parents are wonderful loving people.  All who knew them knew that. They will be sorely missed," V.J. Leggio said.

The couple leaves behind three children and seven grandchildren.
