Highway 71 Accident Sends Two To The Hospital
About 1pm two vehicles were involved in an accident at Hwy 71 and FM 973 near ABIA.
A pickup truck traveling westbound on Hwy 71 ran the red light at FM 973 hitting a car that was turning westbound from FM 973 onto Hwy 71.
There were two people in the car. The female driver was taken to Brackenridge in critical condition. The male passenger was also taken to Brackenridge with minor injuries.
A man, woman, and a child in the truck; no one was injured in that vehicle.
No one has been charged at this time Austin Police are still investigating the accident.
