Austin Police: Woman Threw Scalding Hot Water In Child's Face
Austin police say a woman has admitted to burning a three-year-old boy with scalding hot water.
According to the arrest affidavit, 24-year-old Kelli Garza-Rodriguez is charged with injury to a child, a third degree felony.
Court documents say she filled a large cup with hot water from a sink and threw it in the little boy's face.
Garza told police she was frustrated with the boy for wetting himself. She was babysitting the child at the time at an apartment complex in Southeast Austin and told the child's mother the boy burned himself in the shower.
A search of Travis County jail inmates shows her to be in custody.
