Bank Near Austin's Highland Mall Robbed


Austin police are looking for the city's newest bank robber.

The crime happened at 11:20 a.m. Friday at the Bank of America on Airport Boulevard next to Highland Mall.

Investigators say a man entered the bank, showed a note, got cash from an employee and left.  No one was hurt.

The suspect is described as Asian, 5 foot 4 inches tall, 160 pounds, in his early 20s with dark hair and a slim build.

He was last seen wearing a dark colored beanie/skull cap with a horizontal gray stripe near the bottom, a light shirt with a collar and a black windbreaker jacket.

This is the 18th bank robbery of 2012. At this time in 2011, there were 24 bank robberies.
