Police: More Human Bones Found In Southeast Austin Field

Police say they’ve found more bones in a field in Southeast Austin where human remains were found on Tuesday.

They were found in the 7100 block of East Riverside Drive, just west of the Ben White Boulevard intersection, as work crews were doing a construction survey.

Investigators with the Austin Police Department found more bones Wednesday as they combed the area for more evidence. They believe all the bones come from one body.

A skull and various other bones were found strewn across the field. They were not buried, according to police.

Age or gender of the person could not be immediately determined. Police say the bones had been there for at least two months.

APD says the investigation continues.
