Woman Killed In Far South Austin Car Crash Identified


A woman who died from her injuries a week after a one-vehicle car crash in far South Austin has been identified.

The crash happened at around 4 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22 in the 9900 block of South I-35, just south of the Slaughter Lane exit.

Police say 27-year-old Yolanda Camarillo Manzano was driving southbound in an SUV when she left the roadway and struck the concrete barrier that divides north and southbound traffic.

Manzano was transported to University Medical Center at Brackenridge Hospital where she died from her injuries a week later.

This is Austin’s 70th traffic fatality of 2012. At this time in 2011, there were 48 traffic fatalities.
