Accident Leaves Hundreds In The Dark
A car hit and broke two utility poles on Huntland Drive the accident occurred about 2:30 a.m.
The accident caused a power outage for 1,000 customers in the North Lamar, Airport Blvd, Huntland Drive area.
Crews rerouted power and restored service to 95% of the customers by 3 a.m.
Ed Clark from Austin Energy says, about a dozen customers are still without power.
Replacement of the two poles and system equipment is expected to be completed by 2pm.
