Backhoe Hits Gas Line In East Travis County
A backhoe hit a six-inch natural gas line in east Travis County Monday afternoon, shutting down a busy road in both directions as crews worked on emergency repairs.
It happened at around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Howard Lane and Dessau Lane, right on the edge of the Austin city limit.
Lanes in both directions of Dessau Lane were shutdown as crews made repairs. The northbound lane was reopened at around 5:20 p.m. The southbound lane was still closed Monday evening as crews continued repairs.
No evacuations were ordered.
