Pflugerville H.S. Put On Reverse Lockdown During Off-Campus Disturbance

Pflugerville High School was put into a reverse lockdown Friday morning following an off-campus disturbance involving at least one student.

According to Assistant Pflugerville Police Chief Jim Mclean, a confrontation between individuals with prior issues occurred on 12th Street near the high school around 10 a.m. During the disturbance, a non-PISD student reportedly pulled out a gun.

Police say a student involved in the conflict ran to campus and reported the armed individual to a Security Resource Officer (SRO). Pflugerville police were contacted as well. The reported individual was not at the scene when officers arrived.

PPD Detectives are investigating the incident. Since the suspect is a known individual, police will attempt to locate him and the alleged weapon. The suspect name and age are not being released at this time.

Pflugerville High School initiated a reverse evacuation during the course of the incident and investigation as a precautionary measure.

Amanda Brim, Communications Specialist with PISD, says since the incident occurred off campus, they kept students on the usually open campus during lunch. Brim noted that the issue had cleared and the lockdown was lifted by the end of the school day.
