2-Alarm Fire Destroys 3 Apartment Buildings In Far Northwest Austin
A fire in far Northwest Austin destroyed three apartment buildings early Thursday morning.
The fire broke out at the International Residence Apartments near Hwy 183 and Anderson Mill Road at 5 a.m. The fire broke out in the buildings toward the back of this apartment complex, destroying 68 units.
All residents have been accounted for.
Fire crews from Austin, Cedar Park, Jollyville and Williamson County fought high winds and the dry conditions.
No injuries are reported at this time. People in nearby neighborhoods on Newberry Drive and Shasta Lane were evacuated as a precautionary measure. High winds blew embers towards nearby homes, sparking smaller fires.
