Its a crime that can happen to anyone and anywhere.
Keith Daily, the assistant manager at Little Woodrows in downtown Austin, said business should not be the only ones worried about counterfeit money circulating through Austin.
"Be on the lookout for it, Daily said. Take that extra second to stop and look at it, and be worried about it. It is concerning; you will see more of it when the economy is in a downturn, and people doing whatever they can to get by."
Daily said anytime you get a bill from a business make sure it looks and feels like a genuine bill.
There are several ways to spot a counterfeit bill, according to the secret service Web site look for blurred and distinct borders, serial numbers that are not properly spaced and aligned, also real genuine currency has red and blue fibers embedded in the paper where fake cash usually has the fibers printed on the surface.
