Car Crashes Into Drainage Ditch In East Austin; 1 Dead
One person died in a car crash in East Austin this morning.
At 7:45 a.m., emergency crews went to a call of an accident at 5006 Sara Dr. near off Springdale Road east of Airport Boulevard.
They found a car in a concrete drainage ditch on fire. After they put it out, they discovered a body inside.
Police do not know yet what caused the crash.
This is Austin's 5th traffic fatality of 2013. At this time in 2012, there were two traffic fatalities.
