Fire Severely Damages Northwest Austin Duplex
An overnight fire in Northwest Austin forced six people from their homes.
The Austin Fire Department responded to the 911 call just after 1 a.m. Monday. The fire broke out at a duplex at 9021 Sawtooth Lane, near the intersection of Anderson Mill Road and Pond Springs Road.
When crews arrived on scene they saw heavy fire and smoke coming from the duplex. Six people, three from one side of the duplex and three from the other, were unharmed in the fire.
Fire investigators report an electrical issue caused the fire. It caused $250,000 damage.
