Austin Police: Teen Drag Racing Slams Into Car Head On


A 17-year-old is accused of drag racing and slamming into a car near Lake Travis.

Daniel Zamora is charged with racing causing bodily injury.

According to an arrest affidavit, witnesses say Zamora's yellow 2006 Ford Mustang racing a purple Lexus beginning at the intersection of FM 620 and Rock Harbour, just north of RM 2222.

A witness said a car had pulled in front of the two racing cars.  Zamora swerved to avoid it, lost control, spun into the southbound lanes and collided head on with a Volvo, the affidavit.  Two people inside the Volvo were hurt but not seriously.
