Police: Man Took SUV From Austin Dealership To Sell For Crack

A man who took a $40,000 SUV from a North Austin car dealership on an unauthorized test drive has been accused of selling the vehicle for two rocks of crack cocaine.

50-year-old Carlos Sergio Valdes was charged for theft, a third degree felony, for the Saturday incident.

Valdes drove a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe off of the Henna Chevrolet dealership property on I-35 without permission, according to court documents.

Two hours later, he called police claiming the SUV had been stolen.

Police later pulled over a woman driving the SUV. She said Valdes sold her the vehicle for two rocks of crack.
