Northwest Austin Home Damaged In Fire

Four people are now homeless after a fire damaged a home in Northwest Austin Thursday morning.

The blaze broke out just before 6:30 a.m. at 10007 Mandeville Circle Drive, just off of Anderson Mill Road near the Balcones Country Club.

Officials say the fire was in the garage when firefighters arrived at the house. The fire extended into the attic. Firefighters briefly went into defensive mode due to hazardous conditions.

According to AFD, all residents were able to get out of the house. No injuries were reported.

Investigators say it was caused by an accidental electrical branch circuit failure in the attic.

Damages are estimated at $200,000 to the structure and $100,000 for the contents inside.
