Victorian Home in Hays County Destroyed in Blaze

A two story house fire at 1811 Spring Valley in North Hays County displaced four Friday night.

Several neighbors made 911 calls just before 7 p.m. to report the blaze.

The North Hays County Fire Department responded to the scene with just about all of the equipment they have, according to Hays County Fire Marshal Mark Chambers. The fire took nearly two hours to completely contain.

Officials say the Victorian style home was built around 1902. It has been deemed a total loss.

Residents were reportedly not home at the time and all have been accounted for. The four displaced are staying with neighbors.

No injuries have been reported.

Chambers says the cause has not been determined, and it could take a couple weeks.
