TABC Cancels Liquor Licenses At Downtown Austin Yassine Bars
Several popular Downtown Austin nightclubs could soon come back to life.
The Texas Alcoholic and Beverage Commission has canceled the liquor licenses for all nine Austin bars once operated by the Yassine brothers.
TABC announced that four of the nine were cancelled on Wednesday afternoon. They quickly informed us that the remaining five were canceled shortly thereafter.
KEYE TV was the first to report on the legal troubles of Yassine Enterprises.
Mike Yassine founded the company and he was found guilty of money laundering last fall.
Wednesday's ruling means new liquor permits can be issued, allowing different bars to reopen in the same buildings that used to be run by the Yassines.
