2 Arrested In Robbery, Chase In Buda, Dripping Springs


At least one shot was fired during a robbery and chase in Hays County Thursday morning.

The incident began on Mourning Dove Lane, a residential area northwest of Buda. The victim told the Hays County Sheriff’s Office that the two men fired a shot at him when he came home and caught them trying to get into his house.

The suspects, identified as Gary Zuniga, 29, and Justin Anthony Hernandez, 24 (pictured left to right) took off in a car and Hays County officers chased them. They abandoned the vehicle, but officers caught Zuniga and quickly began a manhunt for Hernandez.

During this time, Dripping Springs ISD schools were locked down for about 10 minutes.

At approximately 11 a.m., police caught Hernandez.

Both have been charged with aggravated robbery, evading arrest and felon in possession of a firearm.
