Elderly Man Killed After Truck Rolled Over Him In South Austin Identified
The elderly man killed last Saturday in South Austin after a pickup truck rolled over him has been identified.
Police say the truck was parked in front of a business in the 2800 block of West William Cannon when, for unknown reasons, it began to roll backwards.
Ramon Samilpa, 93, was caught in the middle of being inside and outside the passenger compartment. He fell down on the ground and was struck by the front wheel of the vehicle.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call APD Vehicular Homicide Unit Detectives at 512-974-5594.
This is Austin's 4th traffic fatality of 2013. At this time in 2012, there were two traffic fatalities.
