Austin Honors Martin Luther King Jr.
The MLK Community March and Rally begins at the Martin Luther King Jr. statue on the University of Texas campus. The start time is 9 a.m. at 21st Street and Speedway, the location of the MLK statue.
The march will move to the Capitol where there will be a gospel concert. The march ends at Houston-Tillotson University on Chicon Street.
Festivities will last until 4 p.m. at Houston-Tillotson with an outdoor concert featuring local Austin bands. Les & the Funk Mob and the Nelson Saga Band are included in the free concert. Donations to the Capital Area Food Bank are encouraged.
