Thousands Run In Austin 3m Marathon
The biggest race yet. 3M Half Marathon in Austin had more than 6,300 people participate on Sunday. Runners hit the pavement at 6:45 am and finished the 13.1 mile race in front of the Bob Bullock Museum.
"It was an easy, fun run and I was smiling the whole time and it was great," says Jinohn Wekesser, runner from Dallas.
3M was able to increase their donations to Communities in Schools, which is a dropout prevention program that helps about 6,000 Central Texas students.
The winner of the race was a San Antonio local, Sammy Kiplagat Chepttoo.
