Shooting Suspect Arrested In Wimberley

A teenager shooting suspect, who barricaded himself in a Wimberley home, is now in custody.

The Hays County Sheriff's Office at approximately noon deputies responded to a shooting call at a home in the 300 block of Rader Ranch Road, in a neighborhood directly behind Wimberley High School.

They found a man with one gunshot wound. He is in an Austin hospital.  Her/his status is unknown.

The 19-year-old shooter then barricaded himself in a residence, according to deputies. He gave up without incident at 4 p.m.

Due to the proximity of the incident and Wimberley High School, the school was put on lockdown.  The children and all staff members that were in the school are safe, according to deputies.
