Louisiana Fugitive Arrested In Round Rock


A Louisiana fugitive wanted for robbery was arrested in Round Rock Wednesday afternoon.

Scotty Antoine, 24, of New Iberia, was arrested in the 1200 block of Old Settlers Park without incident, according to officials with the Texas Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.

According to officials with the New Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office, Antoine robbed two people at gunpoint at a public park, taking two weapons in the process.  Authorities say one of the firearms was used by Antoine during another robbery.

Antoine had arrived in the Austin-area shortly after the first of the year after New Iberia authorities charged Antoine with first degree robbery, according to law enforcement officials. Surveillance was conducted on several associates Antoine was known to have in the area, and officers were able to locate him in Round Rock and arrest him.

He is in custody at the Williamson County Detention Center pending his extradition to New Iberia Parrish.
