Austin Police: Chase Led To Deadly Crash
A person involved in a police chase died overnight in South Austin.
Police received a call about a home burglary in the Slaughter Lane/Manchaca Road area late Thursday night.
An officer saw a suspicious vehicle in the area. It sped away.
But by the time the officer caught up with the car, it had rolled over and crashed near Old Manchaca Road and Riddle Road. One of the people in the car was killed.
The other ran away. But officers shot him a short time later.
