Sketch Released Of South Austin Burglary Suspect

Police say they need the public's help to find a South Austin burglary suspect they say was really there to sexually assault a woman.

It happened last Thursday at 7:30 a.m. in the 8800 block of La Cresada Drive, near MoPac and Davis Lane.

Investigators say that once the suspect got inside the apartment he approached the female occupant – and police believe his intent was to sexually assault her. But after a brief struggle the suspect fled scene on foot.

The suspect is described as:

Hispanic or light skinned black male in his late 20s or early 30s
5'08" - 5'10"
150 - 180 lbs.
LSW gray hoodie and blue jeans

A search of the area was conducted with K-9 police dog units and helicopters, but the man escaped.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Sex Crimes tip line at 512-974-5095 or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS.
