Mayor Says Austin Should Embrace Change
Austin Mayor Lee Leffingwell gave his fourth state of the city address Tuesday in front of a packed crowd at the downtown Four Seasons.
One of the major themes of his speech was change and how Austin needs to embrace and seek change.
He also talked about some of the accomplishments we've made and the road ahead. He said one of his goals is to have a public vote on urban rail before he leaves office.
Mayor Leffingwell also pointed out that Austin is a city that has a "global" reputation. "More and more every year, this city, our home, is the object of unbridled enthusiasm on the part of nearly the entire country. Austin, Texas is today, I think without question, one of the most widely admired and most emulated cities in America," he said.
