No Charges Filed In Cedar Park MS Sexual Incident

Cedar Park police say no charges will be filed against students involved in sexual activity at a Leander Independent School District campus that was recorded on a cell phone.

The incident happened Wednesday Feb. 6 at Cedar Park Middle School during a staff development/student holiday, according to investigators.

On Monday, a Leander ISD spokesperson said a sexual assault had happened on the campus, but would not release details because it was a police investigation.

Police say it involved sexual activity and several juveniles, aged 13 and 14. Sexual contact was made between two of the juveniles, with others present and one recording the incident on a cell phone.

Investigators say Leander ISD officials found out about the incident when the cell phone recording was sent to other students.

According to police, all of the juveniles involved have been identified, interviewed and their parents notified. And the Williamson County Attorney's Office has declined to press charges at the request of all the juveniles and parents involved.

Due to privacy concerns for the juveniles involved, police say no further information will be released.
